Summer Dreaming at Summer Camp

The Hidden Springs Day Camp was created to give children a place to enjoy summer in nature with time to relax, create, have adventures while making new friends. It was built to be affordable and to encourage parents to participate as they were able. A mixture of 4-H and family camps with some touches of outdoor school and the arts- all the things we love. Nestled beside Forest Park, campers spend their time in the forest, the art yard, the front field and by the chicken coop. Grounded in the traditions of camp songs, skits and large group games, we create a safe and sweet place in a busy world. Our first campers are all grown up and many a camper has moved from camper to counselor in this tiny slice of summer life.

2026 Camp Highlights

Animals – The campers love the chickens! This year we hope to have a visiting small horse and some baby goats and of course more baby chickens. Flo, the camp dog always ready to be loved.

Rangers – Campers going into 5th or 6th grade will be given some additional morning challenges in the forest – going their survival skills and having some adventures. Longer hikes, mountain biking and more camp skills.

Our forest story – The Magical Rainbow Fairy Folk of the Forest

Last year we made friends with the trolls who live within the forest, This year we will look beneath fern and root to the smallest of the forest’s magic – the forest fairies. We will build them houses and learn how they depend on the rich forest floor for survival. Our story will explore elements of color and water as we create rainbows and crystals, both in art and science.
Our songs and story telling will weave in images of joy and hope that exists within the many rainbow songs. Family members are invited to wander the camp and forest trails discovering new things with their campers.
